ISTE STANDARDS

1 Learner Standard

Educators continually improve their practice by learning from and with others and exploring proven and promising practices that leverage technology to improve student learning.

Each of these examples showcase the learner standard. Firstly, I engaged and connected with teachers, education majors, and experts during my #sschar dealing with the subject of whiteness. This twitter chat helped meet this standard by actively participating in learning networks. The second example that meets with was my content exploration badge by exploring pedagogical approaches with technology resources.

2 Leader Standard

Educators seek out opportunities for leadership to support student empowerment and success and to improve teaching and learning.

For my first example Wakelet, I use this as an example when talking to past teachers advocating for the adoption of tools like this. I have shared this on my twitter and have emailed many teachers asking them to check out mine and what they think about it. For my second example, I got certified as an Apple Teacher. As an apple teacher, I advocate for equitable access to all devices so that learning can be accessed by all.

3 Citizen Standard

Educators inspire students to positively contribute to and responsibly participate in the digital world.

For the citizen standard of ISTE I created a technology resource and finished the copyright and plagiarism badge. This technology resource is an interactive slideshow that helps teach students media fluency and digital literacy. Thie second example was the completion of the copyright and plagiarism badge which can help students identify the safe, legal, and ethical practices when using someone else's' intellectual property.

4 Collaborator Standard

Educators dedicate time to collaborate with both colleagues and students to improve practice, discover and share resources and ideas, and solve problems.

The Twitter chat badge helped me with dedicating an hour of my time to creating a better learning experience. I engaged with experts globally talking about whiteness in education. For the Smore badge, I interacted with parents and teachers with a newsletter to better enrich learning.

5 Designer Standard

Educators design authentic, learner-driven activities and environments that recognize and accommodate learner variability.

The Project-Based Learning Resource is a use of technology that fosters personalized and independent learning through. Both Resources align with standards that maximize deep learning. Using design principles my technology integration resource used design principles for the accompanying powerpoint.

6 Facilitator Standard

Educators facilitate learning with technology to support student achievement of the ISTE Standards for Students.

My computational thinking resource put me in the classroom teaching third graders about GPS, Self-Driving Cars, and Grid Systems. This made students utilize computational thinking by having students guide a self-driving car using a grid system to move around a map. This made students creatively think about how to move people around. The Project-Based Learning Resource made students independently and creatively express their knowledge in a culture that is supported by their thoughts and ideas.

7 Analyst Standard

Educators understand and use data to drive their instruction and support students in achieving their learning goals.

The Technology Integration resource relies on formative assessment while the Production Tasks resource relies on an example summative problem. Both types of assessments involve using the data received to build a better lesson and to enrich learning. Production Tasks allow students to have alternative ways to present their learning and information.
